Biography

Hailed as one of the most promising emerging artists of Canada, Samuel Blanchette-Gagnon is the winner of the prestigious Prix d’Europe and of the International Stepping Stone Competition. He regularly performs in his country and abroad, while his albums recorded under the label Atma received dithyrambic reviews by the press. Samuel obtained first prizes from the Quebec Conservatory of Music, where he was awarded the Wilfrid-Pelletier Scholarship for outstanding achievement. He now pursues advanced training with internationally celebrated musicians such as Marc-André Hamelin, André Laplante, Bertrand Chamayou, Benedetto Lupo and Stephen Kovacevich. He was selected together with five other promising artists for the Carrefour International for young musicians at Festival de Lanaudière.
