Born in Korea, Jun Hwi Cho studied at the National Institute of Gifted Education until his early teens and won many awards in his home country. Then in autumn 2012, he moved to the USA and began a new musical journey while attending The Juilliard School. He won first prize in both the New York Concour and began performing regularly in the United States until now. The Washington Post evaluated Cho's Philips collection recital as follows: "Cho's rhythm control is admirable. The pianist showed a mature drama and timing that projected clarity in thunderstorms and freely traversed music." He studied at The Juilliard School under Emanuel Ax and Matti Raekallio, Yale School of Music with Boris Slutsky and he is currently studying at Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University with Hie-Yon Choi.
