Bang-Shyuan Chen is a native of Taiwan currently based in Florida. Chen thrives as a doctoral candidate with teaching responsibilities at Florida State University under the mentorship of Dr. Read Gainsford. Chen earned his bachelor’s degree at Manhattan School of Music, and master’s degree at Indiana University. Chen has had the privilege to study under inspirational teachers: Mikhail Kollontay, Dr. Marc Silverman, Dr. Karen Shaw, and Distinguished Professor Menahem Pressler. Chen has performed at reputable venues such as the National Concert Hall of Taiwan, The Green Space, Gordon K. & Harriet Greenfield Hall, and Opperman Music Hall. Chen shares recordings of his performances on YouTube, with the latest projects including his doctoral recitals.
