Praised by the legendary Paul Badura-Skoda as “an extraordinary pianist brimming with musicianship,” Shangru Du has captivated audiences worldwide. His performances include Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Beijing Central Conservatory Concert Hall, Shenzhen Poly Theater, and many other venues across the world. Recently, he performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Eastman Philharmonia and Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Boulder Symphony. Shangru received a Bachelor’s degree at Oberlin Conservatory, studying with Stanislav Ioudenitch and Matti Raekallio, and a Master’s degree at Juilliard with Matti Raekallio and Jerome Lowenthal. He is now pursuing a Doctoral degree at the Eastman School of Music with Douglas Humpherys.
