Biography

Kang Tae Kim initiated his piano studies at the age of 6. He debuted with the Wonju Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 11 and was invited to perform at a Kumho Prodigy Concert at the age of 12. His accomplishments include the 3rd prize at the Isang Yun International Music Competition and the 2nd prize at the Takamatsu International Piano Competition. In addition to the 1st prize from the Beijing International Music Festival & Academy Concerto Competition and the Osaka International Music Competition, he was awarded the Giovanni Turcotti Special Prize at the Valsesia Musica International Competition. He has performed at multiple venues, including the Gyeongnam Culture Art Center, Kemin Hall, Varrallo Teatro Civico, and Qintai Concert Hall. He played solo concerts with the Takamatsu Symphony Orchestra, the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra. He first studied with Hee Sung Joo in South Korea and with Markus Groh in Berlin, and in 2024 he continued his studies with Arnulf von Arnim.
