Biography

Zhonghua Wei began his piano studies at the age of five with Taiwanese-American pianist Jay Sun, the piano department Chair at Xinghai Conservatory Middle School. Youthful competition successes include first prize at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition for Young Artists also garnering the Peter Takács Prize for Best Classical Sonata, received third prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists with a special prize for the best performance of Bach, and was accepted for the second year in a row to the prestigious Morningside Music Bridge Festival, an elite full scholarship chamber music program for the top young musicians of the world.
